The Retreat offers something that's genuinely hard to find in the Byron region: a luxury, private property with nearly 360-degree hinterland and ocean views, generous space for up to ten guests, and a level of comfort that makes you want to stay an extra night. Set in exclusive Coopers Shoot, it delivers the full hinterland experience without sacrificing access to everything Byron Bay has to offer.
Eight minutes from Byron Bay and a short drive to Bangalow and Newrybar, the property's location is as practical as it is beautiful. You're removed from the crowds, but never far from great food, markets, or the beach.
The Space
The Retreat is a five-bedroom, four-bathroom property that sleeps up to ten guests across the main home and a fully self-contained one-bedroom studio. The studio sits adjacent to the main house with its own private entrance, making it ideal for guests who want their own space within the same property.
Designed for groups who value comfort and quality, every part of the home has been finished with care. Warm, contemporary interiors, quality furnishings, and seamless indoor-outdoor flow give the property a feel that's immediately relaxing and genuinely impressive.
Living
The main living area is light-filled and spacious, centred around an indoor fireplace that makes the space equally appealing on cool hinterland evenings. The views across the hills are present from every angle, and the room opens easily to the outdoors for when the weather calls for it.
Downstairs, a second living area connects directly to the gardens and pool, giving the group room to spread out. A dedicated media room and a separate cinema room round out the entertainment options, so there is always somewhere comfortable to settle in once the sun goes down.
Kitchen and Dining
The kitchen is well set up for a full group. Premium appliances, generous bench space, and a smart layout make cooking for ten straightforward rather than stressful. The dining area seats the whole group comfortably and connects naturally to the living area and outdoor entertaining space, keeping the flow easy during meals and long evenings.
The outdoor barbecue adds another dimension to entertaining and is positioned to make the most of the outdoor setting.
Bedrooms (Sleeps 10)
Five bedrooms across the main home and studio, each finished with quality linen and thoughtful detail.
Master: King bed with en-suite and bath, hinterland views
Bedroom 2: Queen bed
Bedroom 3: Queen bed
Bedroom 4: Queen bed, located downstairs
Self-contained apartment: King bed with full private amenities
Bathrooms
Four bathrooms in total, two of which include baths. The master en-suite is a clear highlight, offering beautiful hinterland views and a finish that reflects the quality carried throughout the property. The remaining bathrooms are clean, well-appointed, and designed for a group.
Pool and Outdoor
The outdoor entertaining area and pool are the centrepiece of the ground level. The entertaining space looks directly over the pool and into the landscaped gardens, making it an easy base for the group whether you're after a long lunch or a relaxed afternoon in the sun.
As evening arrives, the fire pit draws the group together under a wide open Coopers Shoot sky. The combination of landscaped gardens, pool, alfresco dining and an open fire makes the outdoor areas as functional as they are beautiful.
